Decentralized Leadership

Active in Koraput highlands & coastal Puri since our 1997 foundation.

Institutional Genesis

Rooted in the Soil of Koraput: The Community as Prime Custodian.

PRASTUTEE – Symbolising Development began its embryonic journey in 1997 following a collective deliberation by dedicated social activists committed to the self-determination of impoverished tribal and other backward classes living across Southern Odisha.

Consciously choosing undivided Koraput as our core ambit, we registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in 2000 and achieved statutory clearance under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act of 1976 in 2005. Over time, our footprint has thoughtfully expanded to include targeted coastal communities in Puri.

“We firmly hold that rural and tribal communities are inherently the best custodians and managers of local natural endowments. Proper community agency and rights-based entitlement can resolve systemic socio-economic deprivation.”

Today, our on-ground interventions integrate grassroots agronomy, watershed conservation, indigenous seed banks, and participatory governance audits—ensuring institutional accountability alongside rural dignity.
